This is a personal, single-user command-line tool. The only person who authorises it, and the only person whose data it touches, is its owner (flyingstar0913@gmail.com). There are no other users, no accounts, and no sign-up.
With the gmail.readonly scope, the tool reads message headers, snippets and bodies from the owner's own Gmail mailbox, only when the owner runs a command. It never sends mail, never modifies or deletes mail, and never changes any mailbox setting.
Message content is printed to the owner's terminal on the owner's own computer. Nothing is uploaded to any server operated by this application. There is no database, no analytics, and no logging service.
The only thing stored on disk is the OAuth credential (~/.config/gmail-lean/token.json), kept locally on the owner's machine so the tool does not have to re-authorise every run. Message contents are not cached or written to disk by the tool.
No data is sold, rented, shared with third parties, or used for advertising, profiling or model training.
Use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide the feature the owner requested, and is not transferred to anyone else.
Access can be revoked at any time at
myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Deleting ~/.config/gmail-lean/token.json removes the stored credential locally.
